The Grange
16th Century Listed Country House

The Brief
The clients beautiful Grade II listed 16th Century house was dated and needed modernising, sympathetically to the age of the building but reflecting the clients personal style.
Part 1
Master Ensuite
The previously dull and tired ensuite bathroom has been turned into a bright space full of character. The mixture of aged effect patterned tiles and glossy chevron tiles balances traditional with a modern geometry.

Part 2
Family Bathroom
This bathroom has become a rich and eclectic combination of modern and classic. A dark, rich green, wall panel detail, freestanding bath and a herringbone floor embrace the age and grandeur of the building. Twisted with a tropical patterned tile, clean hardware and sleek vanity it becomes a contemporary space, ideal for modern living.
We covered the old lath and plaster ceiling with plasterboard to make re-wiring easier and minimising the mess.

Part 3
Guest Bathroom
This large, spacious room has plenty of original features to be maintained and accentuate. The previous position of the bath was in front of the open fireplace. By adding a freestanding bath and moving it to the left of the fireplace and in front of the exposed beam it incorporates and makes a focal point of these lovely elements.
