Mill Lane
The Modern Country Kitchen

The Brief
Ground floor reconfiguration of three rooms into one open plan living space which would be perfect for entertaining, incorporating the kitchen, dining table and an informal seating area, whilst also inviting the outside in.
Project Overview
This property had an unappealing layout that didn’t suit the clients’ lifestyle. A dark, galley style kitchen led into the first of two reception rooms, which had loads of natural light and opened out onto the garden. A second reception room linked this space with the front living room but, in isolation, had no natural light.
Scope Of Works
By turning these three rooms in to one large open room, we created a kitchen and dining area full of light and space. We removed walls to create the more open plan aspect of the space, installed steel beams and relocated windows and doors. To give more light a roof light was installed and the gorgeous picture window.
An End to End Service
For this project we provided our bespoke design service and proposed several options for the layout of the open plan kitchen living space, including the orientation of the island and seating. Using open shelving rather than upper cabinets resulted in a more modern and less cluttered feel to the space.
